Pressing caudally, the fragment was displaced medially and was then grabbed with the fingers. It was only attached by the tag of gum tissue seen on the caudal and distal part of the fragment.

The thumb is on the occlusal surface of this 408 medial sagittal and transverse cheek tooth fragment. The red tag of gum was its only attachment on the lingual surface.
